In Ayurveda, Marma points are considered vital energy centers where the body, mind, and consciousness meet. There are 107 main marma points throughout the body, located at sites where muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, and joints intersect. Each point serves as a doorway to the body’s inner energy pathways (nadis) and can influence both physical and emotional well-being.
Working with marma points—through gentle touch, awareness, or massage—helps to balance prana (life force), support natural healing, and promote relaxation. In Ayurvedic practice, marma therapy is used to release blocked energy, enhance circulation, and restore harmony within the body’s systems.
For beginners, understanding marma points is about cultivating sensitivity and mindfulness—learning to listen to the body’s subtle messages and supporting its innate intelligence for self-healing.
